Lady Cantara Savienne, Knight of the Crown
Cantara Savienne was born in the
great city of Palanthas, and was raised by a family long devoted
to the healing gifts of Paladine. While inspired by the
Savienne's work for the greater good of the people, she was far
too enchanted by the majestic Knights of Solamnia who protected
her beautiful city and its inhabitants from the evils of Krynn.
Determined to protect the powers of good, she set out at the age
of 17 to train both physically and spiritually with the dream of
becoming a holy warrior of Paladine.
Many hardships were overcome over the
following years, and it was the path of the solitary paladin
Cantara had followed until one fateful day. She had wandered into
the dark Crytic Forest in hopes of releasing the foul curse with
which it was plagued. Many hideous beasts tried to stop her, but
she persisted and pushed onward, determined to reach the center
of the dark forest. After several days she stumbled into a dark
pit, only to find herself face to face with the Guard Captain
Corak. Such a fierce opponent she had never faced before, but her
determination prevailed and the captain fell to her sword. But
alas, the battle left her gravely wounded, and she was forced to
rest in the captains glowing caves.
Hearing footfalls, Cantara tensed, only
knowing that she could not survive another attack. But this was
no beast which met her, but a proud warrior. He entered and,
seeing her wounded, sat to rest and talk with her. He spoke of
many things, and upon mentioning the Knighthood Cantara's spirit
soared. He spoke of a close friend, Sir Noryl, who would be
honored to speak of the Knighthood with such a fine warrior as
herself.
Over the next few years, Cantara fought
bravely, determined to join her dreams and the ranks of the
Knighthood. At the request of Sir Justinian, she sought out the
Keep of Lord Argand and, upon hearing of his tragic curse,
traveled many days to the Temple of Grak with the hopes of
freeing this poor soul from darkness. It was within the walls of
Grak where she broke the dark curse of Lord Argand and gained the
privilege of joining the brilliant Knights of Solamnia in their
never-ending quest.
