Quinefier Stormdancer, Dancing Storm of Solamnic Forces

Quinefier is a young nature loving half-elf who liked to run around the land of Krynn when she was young. It was one of her happier days, but she couldn’t remember much of her origin. All she knew was that she was being taken care of by a lady, whom she calls her mother”, Aspen Darkfire, in New Tarsis. She is old for an elf, her body marred by scars. The only thing Quinefier knew about her is that she was the Royal Guard in the city of Silvanost. Although Aspen doesn’t speak much about herself, Quinefier loved her like her own mother. She was the one who had taken care of her when she was just a little girl, and no other elf nor human would take her in because she was half-elf, a breed that was neither accepted in Silvanesti nor in the human lands.

One day, while she was in the inn drinking a mug of whiskey, she met a stranger who called himself Norril. He was a handsome looking young human and for the first time Quinefier met someone who was so nice to her apart from Aspen. They started to chat and they shared tales of their adventures. It was so fun as she never met anyone who would talk to her. At the time, the city was being overrun by the Tarsis Shriners, a clan of warriors, priests and mages. They were more like bullies rather than mercenary soldiers or anything. She learned a lot more about Ansalon, and was touched by the sad, yet triumphant story of the knight Sturm Brightblade who was credited with uniting the Solamnic Knights to pursue their original vision and goals, at the cost of his life. From that day onward, she wanted to join the Knights, and been training hard. She followed her foster mother’s footsteps and become a ranger. At this time, she went to Silvanesti for the first time in decades with a group of longtime friends, hoping to learn more about her past if it would help somehow help join the Knighthood. She was shocked, however, to find a small group of Silvanesti elves desperately fighting for their lives at the edge of the forest against a battalion of undead soldiers. It was a bloody battle, but thanks to Quinefier’s timely arrival, the elves managed to flee. It so happened that one of the elves whom she rescued was the general responsible for sending her away from Silvanesti. He revealed that Silvanesti had been overrun by draconians, and now a new evil has taken over. Feeling honour-bound, he reluctantly told her what she wanted to know.

Quinefier was the daughter of a great human mage, who, along with her elven mother, were killed by a death knight named Lord Soth. Aspen had protected her from Lord Soth’s minions, and was not supposed to tell her anything till she came of age. This newfound knowledge came a little too early to Quinefier, as at that time as she was still young and immature. From that moment on, she swore revenge for her parents.

When she came of age, she led her own companions through the wild lands and vanquished many evils. Her successes caught some attention, and there she was reunited with her old friend, Norril, who was fighting several crazed undead kinder in the Kender Ruins. The two banded together and destroyed much of the evil in the ruins, and managed to gain a few valuable treasures along the way. They couldn’t explore further, as Norril was wounded. Quinefier felt that the human’s wounds had to be treated immediately. Word was sent out and healers were summoned to aid Norril. Rushing through that late night was Lady Rosette, Natural Born Knight of the Crown. She managed to cure Norril’s wounds, and Quinefier chose that moment to apply for the knighthood. Despite years of training, Quinefier was never able to master the bow, and the use of bows was vital to a ranger. Thus, she deemed herself a failure, and went through a period of depression. Unable to face herself or the other members of the knighthood, she rented a room in a Kalaman inn, and remained there for a long time.

One night, there was a knock on the door and Quinefier was surprised to find Aspen, whom she had not spoken to in years! Her foster mother had been looking for her ever since she left Tarsis. Aspen then settled down and told her more about her past, and revealed an important piece of information: she was never meant to be a ranger.

Her father was a great mage in the white order, and her mother was an arch-druid in Silvanesti. Their union sparked off a fury that was worsened by the birth of a half-elf baby girl. After her parents’ deaths, Aspen chose to leave Silvanesti to take care of Quinefier. Aspen told Quinefier that she didn’t have to follow her ways and be a ranger; instead, she could follow her mother’s ways by be a druid, or a mage, like her father. Aspen’s visit changed Quinefier’s life, and from then on, she learned the ways of a druid, through an old grandmaster, Samah, a Red Band Ice Stormer from Tarsis, and friend of the Solamnic Knights after lobbying by her old friend, Norril, and from that time onwards, Quinefier is well known in her arts with the nature.
