Lady Raya Light, Knight of the Crown
In the beginning, I only knew of one place and that was Palanthas. The place I was born. Well, after living there for many years, I was given two choices by my step father Ravie Shanata. The first choce was to become a mage like my mother and my second choice was to become a great warrior like him. So i took to my mother side just to please her. After a while I found I didn't like being a mage and at the age of twelve I went to become a warrior but I got laughed at because I couldn't offhand a long sword, so I took off on my own. By then I knew there where other towns and where my real father was living, so I went to find him in Kalaman. It took me the whole day to get there but I was glad to finally get there. It was late, so I headed to the inn with what little money I had and stayed there a night. That morning I woke up to find out that someone broke into my room and stole almost everything except my clothes and the coins in my pocket--just enough to pay the rent a buy a loaf of bread. I then began looking for my father around town.
I looked most of the day and I couldn't find out where he lived and so I took a seat on the corner and started crying because I had no money and a half a loaf of bread left and one bad water skin that could only hold about 4 drinks of water in it. I was there about 20 minutes before a man came up to me dressed in all white armor and a white morning star in his hand and he asked what the problem was. So I told him I came down here from Palanthas to get away from my step father and try to find my real father, and I told him I didnt know what he looked like and the only thing I knew was his name. So he said that he could help me find him if I wanted because he knew everyone in this town and had been here for about 11 years. Then he asked what his name is. So i said Tyran Light. Then he kneeled down to me with a sad look on his face and tells me I am sorry to say my child, he just passed away just last year in the great battle to save the city from the dragonarmies. He was my best student in the healing arts. So I started crying even more, why didn't anyone send a letter to my mother or me when he died. He said we sent a letter to you mother so she probly didnt tell you, to avoid hurting you, so she could tell you later in life what happened.
I yelled, "MOTHER HOW COULD YOU KEEP THIS FROM ME!" Crying, "I have no where to go, I can't go back home and I have no money and no trades so I cant do anything right any more." The man told me that I could stay with him and his wife until I got back on my feet again. Then he asked me if I could take over for my father and be his apprentice again. Wiping the tears from my eyes, I stood up and said Raya Light at your service. He rose to his feet and with a smile said my name is Clif Quintez. It will be an honor to teach the daughter of a honorable man like your father. He took me home and got me cleaned up and began my teachings in the art of healing.
Years after that I was living on my own, still learning things from the great Clif Quintez. My adopted father taught me well and after some time, sent me on a quest to find the staff of healing to get my final spell. On the way I met a few future friends named Bellerophon and Trillinez. One a barbarian and the other a mage, they had seen me coming riding on a horse and stopped me to ask what I was doing. I told them of my quest and they wanted to join in and assist me. So the three of us entered Xak Tsaroth and after a few days, defeated the evil black dragon. I discovered the Staff of Healing in a statue of Mishakal, and after praying over it I learned the most powerful healing spell--heal.
When I returned to Kalaman I found my masters body on the floor. He had been stabbed in the back by some dishonorable foe. With my new found friends we searched the back alley's of Kalaman and found an assassin with fresh blood on his blade. He laughed at me when he saw me and said, "You'll be easier than Cliff Quintez." The three of us fought him, he nearly defeated us, but when he saw me heal the wounds of myself and my comrades he started running. We hunted him down and defeated him easily. After the battle I buried my adopted father and master and prayed over his grave for many hours.
A few weeks later I decided to leave Kalaman and venture out on my own. In the stables I saw a mage named Tyrann sitting around and waiting for some friends. I saw a Knight of the Crown ring on his finger, and seeing he was hurt, I healed his wounds. He was honored by my kind actions and asked me to join him and his fellow knights in an adventure. I gladly accepted his offer and he showed me a wonderous spell, I rose up off of the ground! We travelled around Kalaman and killed many evil things. I was surprised that there was so much evil in the land. I decided to stay with them and offer my services and I served them for many months. After a few months I asked Tyrann is there anyway to become a knight? He told me I had to pass three quests and that I had to be of pure nature and never raise my hand in anger against those who had pure hearts. I told him that I could live by those ideals and asked him for a quest. He stood up and told me my quests, then I was off to complete them. It took a couple of months to do finish them, the hardest one was the last one. I had to run all over the land trying to find the proper place, and by accident I found the city of Gulfport. There I found the item I needed and returned it to the emperor of Gulfport.
A few weeks later, many knights gathered in Palanthas for a big ceremony to knight myself and four other squires. I stood before the High Justice of Solamnia, said my vows and was knighted. Ever since then I have travelled with my knight brothers and vanquished evil all over Krynn.
